The Rev. Victor Reyes was born in Dominican Republic on April 15 of 1958. Son of Mrs. Maria and Mr. Carlos Reyes, he accepted the Lord as his Savior at 13 years old. time in which he met Carmen Reyes, who would be his wife years later. When he was 19 years old, he moved to the USA and the next year, he got married.
From that union his first daughter Danlia was born. Then three years later his second daughter Yeleni was born. As a result three granddaughters and a grandson have been added to the family: Aleena Reyes, Leilani Reyes, Brianna Gonzalez and a grandson Jaden Reyes. Both daughters and their families back up their parents as shepherds and learned about social activism through their father's leadership and his dedication to ammend a broken world.
His daughter Danlia is united in marriage to Miguel Gomez, who collaborates in the church working the sounds system. The other daughter Yeleni is married to Alexander Gonzalez who also collaborates in the church as Master of Knights and performs pro-temple work.
In 1980 the Rev. Victor Reyes and his wife Carmen Reyes, were part of the Alpha and Omega Church, where he held positions such as: Teacher, Deacon, Superintendent of the Sunday School and Co-Pastor of the church. In addition, in his long career in the path of God the Rev. Victor Reyes has acquired titles such as: Doctorate in Christian Psychology, Pastoral Care, Basic Theology in the Biblical Institute of the Assemblies of God.
Noted for his inspiring and galvanizing preaching style and his profound concern for social justice, on April 6th of 1986, the Rev. Victor Reyes, by disposition of God, was elected as pastor of "La Luz del Mundo" Pentecostal Church, Inc. in which his wife has helped in the pastoral ministry and held positions such as: Superintendent of Sunday School, Ladies president, coordinator of the missionaries, and today a Sunday school teacher.
The peculiarity of "La Luz del Mundo" Pentecostal Church, is that by the 80's, the Temple's facilities were in a serious deteriorating state, so much that the Firefighters of New York City wanted to close the use of the Building and with a debt of 1 million dollars, the church had a very small membership at that time.
With his election in 1986 as pastor of "La luz del Mundo", many victories blessed by God have accompanied the Rev. Victor Reyes and his family, helping them to obtain benefits and achievements for the church and the community as:
• The reconstruction of the temple inside and outside.
• Institution of the month of January as a prayer month.
• Establishment of Girl's ministry program (missionaries)
• Children's Church service on Sundays.
• Birth of the worship group.
• Establishment of Miracles Wednesday.
• Opening of "churches" works in different countries such as: Dominican Republic and Ecuador.
• Missionary trips to: Africa, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Mexico and Venezuela.
• Radio program "Momentos de Adorar" on Mondays in Radio Vision Cristiana.
• Since June 2009 to the present was named Brooklyn presbyter of the Assemblies of God Eastern Hispanic District in Brooklyn New York, where he oversees 42 churches.
• Establishment of the media and video department, live broadcast of the evangelistic services on Sundays through the social networks Facebook and Youtube, creation and innovation of the Web page, with the purpose of using the technology to touch and reach more souls for Christ.
There is no doubt, that since he began to follow the path od God, Rev. Victor Reyes and his family have been faithful to God's calling, serving as mediator, as a man of many actions and community oriented, which fills all the people's hearts in the name of Christ and the community
